this is the third time ive posted the beauty advice so here's hoping!

I chose this quote today because I feel that beauty is all based on the person looking in. For example, if a passerby looks at a magazine rack in the U.S., it is most likely to see the "california girl" as I like to call it. (and in no way is that meant to be a Katy Perry reference)
Anyways, it's a girl who is very slim, maybe too much for her own good, with bleach blonde hair and tan skin, as if she spends every waking hour of her existence at the beach. Now if we go to somewhere else, I'm going to say Mexico just as an example, they have full-figured women with mostly dark brown hair.
Now some American women (although I don't agree with them) will think "Why is she on the magazine cover? She obviously eats carbs!" And vice versa with women in Mexico.
What my point is here after that horribly long rant is that what beauty is to one culture, could be absolutely different to another. It all depends on the culture, heritage, and background of the society. What really matters is your personality.
now im hoping this post came through to you guys!

Flowers and Bows, All A Girl Ever Needs

Hey Everyone!
So, I am so surprised I was able to find the time this weekend to post so I'm doing it as quick as I can before something comes up like usual!
So I've been doing the casual thing lately with my clothes, mostly because I've been accidentally getting out of bed later than intended and tights are hard work to get on in a hurry! I have on just a simple pair of jeans, converse, a blouse and a cardigan. I wore this to school the other day, which ended up being a good option considering there was a big snow storm by the time the final bell had rung :( I think I might've jinxed all of Massachusetts in my last post bragging about the weather.
Anyway, I really love this outfit because it's comfy and they just go together really well in my mind. Also, if you haven't noticed from my other posts, I'm kind of obsessed with navy blue. Navy blue cardigans, dresses, blazers, even my converse. My jeans are even a close match to navy blue wash.
So my inner beauty advice today is:(look in the next post for quote explanation;stupid formatting problems...)
Beauty is not real. Beauty only exists in perception
(explanation is in above blog post sorry for the inconvenience!)

My Hearts All Aflutter

Okay so I haven't been able to blog with all my school stuff lately. I was able to take pictures but not take the time to make a blog post of them! So the weather's been kicking up here. 50 degrees in February? IN NEW ENGLAND?! It sure is rarely heard of around here but its been great so far! I've been able to wear alot more dresses than I was able to last year simply because when I wake up in the morning and it looks cold outside, I don't really feel like throwing on a dress!
So this is a more casual look but the sweater just makes it look like you're at least trying!  I love the way this sweater fits me and these jeans are a great length and wash. They used to fit everywhere great but then I lost some weight so I need to work my jean magic to shrink them around but not lengthwise. (Which may be impossible sadly!)
So I wanted my inner beauty advice today to be:
Don't let the number on that tag, keep you from buying something or wearing the wrong size. Because (to refer to special K commercials) You're size sassy, radiant, CONFIDENT!
Whatever it may be, let your personality show, NOT your size! Because in my mind and the minds of many others, if your clothes have the best fit for your body, you instantly feel confident, and people WILL take notice. So don't squeeze into a small when you are a beautiful, vivacious, large.  OWN IT! As long as you are healthy and aren't risking your own health and safety with your way of life and eating, by all means show off what you've got.
Again comment with any questions, suggestions, anything! It's the only way I can give you give you guys exactly what you want!
Good luck with your fashion adventures and see you soon!

Boyfriend Blazers and Bow Dresses

SO I am so sorry I haven't posted in so long. I have been incredibly busy with school and then there was the holidays. And once its Thanksgiving, you have no time to rest until New Year's Day with my family! Anyways,  I wore this to school the other day but I added a slightly messy yet pulled together bun with a navy blue headband with a GIGANTIC bow on the top. I love that headband so much I wear it as much as possible. And its a life saver for the days when your bangs don't come out just the way you want them to. Which is frequently when you have curly hair! Well anyways, what my point was, don't be afraid to wear things that are different because of what other people think. I got made fun of with my headband, along with other things I wear (high schoolers can be very cruel). But I don't let it bother me, because what I wore six months ago and was made fun of, is in style now and get twice as many compliments. If you are like me, just stick to what you like and people will copy you. Because you DO have good ideas when it comes to fashion, but others are too insecure to admit and try it themselves. And I do realize that I was ranting a bit, but I feel like as much as this blog is about your appearance, the readers (you guys!) should also receive some inner beauty advice from me. Like don't let what others say affect your personality and interests. That was today's piece of advice.
So if you think of any lessons, important quotes, or food for thought about inner beauty, leave a comment below and I'll talk about it next time! Thanks for reading and enjoy the pictures! (Also bear with me, my sister took my pictures and some came out blurry!)
I was also thinking of doing some beauty tutorials so if anyone wants to see something done just leave a comment!

Ahhh Friends....

They make everyday so much better. Which is why I love this photo so much. We took this a couple days ago on 'Decades Day' for spirit week at our high school. Our class was obviously the 1950s. And we definitely put some effort into dressing up! I love that we had this day because I wish we could dress like this all the time. I love the 1950s time period for many reasons, but mostly because of the fashion. I actually made the skirt that I am wearing (3rd in from the right, in the white button up and skirt) from one of my grandmother's patterns she used to use for her skirts when she was young. You can also see quite the characters here, which also translates into another reason I love fashion. You get to be a different person everyday! That is my motto for the clothes I wear. I can seem like a totally different person everyday from just the way I dress. Anyways, this is my first posting and I'm new to the whole blogging thing, so please bear with me and I will improve! I'll try to get the other pictures we took that day up I'm just waiting for my friend to upload them! I will try to post pictures of my outfits as often as I can, but with the heaviest possible class load for a sophomore, I am usually caught up with school! But I will try my darndest to keep some sort of regularity with posts! Thanks for reading!
